After renting several houses for four years, in July 2010 we were able to purchase and move into our very own beautiful compound, in a very quiet and safe area, two kilometres off the main road, in Imbaseni village, in Maji ya Chai ward.
We are close to schools and an amazing library stocked with text books and reading books which our children can use.
We have a maximum of 24 residential children living at this compound.
We have one main house right now, with a girl’s bedroom, a toddler’s bedroom, Mama’s bedroom and plenty of living and play space too.
In our other building we have two bedrooms for our boys.
We have a centralised kitchen and store, and good laundry facilities.
We have a beautiful garden, where we grow vegetables. Our fruit trees and bushes include passion fruit, raspberries, oranges, lemons, papaya, mango, avocado (yes, avocado is actually a fruit!), and rhubarb.
We use solar power (so no electricity bills!), and have excellent water storage and a constant water supply.
