At SWTz we are always looking forward!

Now resident in our own compound, we have plenty of building projects and ideas for future expansion!

We want to build an additional house to supplement our current residential housing. And we have a vision to build our own fully fledged nursery school – we currently have one room we are temporarily using as a classroom, but we need to build three proper classrooms and toilet, kitchen, dining, and play facilities.

We also want to build some single-room units for our youth to transition from being in our care to living and caring for themselves.

Also a computer lab, volunteer housing, store rooms and carpentry workrooms. We definitely aren’t short of ideas!:

In the short term we have some very tangible, and pressing, goals:

• To upgrade the existing solar panel system at the house. We would like to add a couple of 75 watt panels (we already have the batteries), which would cost around £1,000

• Purchase a minibus to transport our growing number of children and staff - £7,500

• Build five one-room units for our older teenagers, to help them transition into adulthood and learn self-sufficiency - £5,000

In the longer term:

• Build an additional three-bedroom residential home for our children - £35,000

• Build a three-classroom nursery school for children from the local community, in particular impoverished children living with single-mothers - £20,000
